The Bird Left Outside the Cage

The bird left outside the cage may have more freedom.

It may have more opportunity.

It will face more challenges,

Than the bird that is inside.

The bird that is inside will have guaranteed shelter,

Guaranteed food and water available.

But will not be allowed out of its cage.

The bird’s wings will be clipped.

And the diet will always be synthetic and the same.

Synthetic and the same,

Over and Over again.

Synthetic and the same.

The bird left outside the cage can grow and take chances.

The bird that is inside will always be safe.

Or will it?

What is your call?

Fly under the radar?

Be the bird inside the cage?

Or set your own destiny?

Although not without sacrifice,

Or risk.

Do the pros outweigh the cons?

They do.

Do you feel the sickness?

I have,

But I no longer do.

I must soar away.
